Granulated blast furnace slag GOST 3476-74
Granulated slag is obtained by shock chilling of incandescent blast furnace slag by water, steam and air at special unit, followed by mill crushing. As a result, different fractions with size up to 100 mm are formed. Humidity of ready granulated slag, produced by “AlbaStroyDor” LLP, does not exceed 10%.
Features of crushed granulated slag:
- High reactivity
- Good water-resistance
- High adhesion
- Low deformation profile
- Low shrinkage deformation at hardening
- Sulfate resistance
- Frost-resistance
- High crack-resistance
- High corrosion-resistance
- High durability in aggressive environments
- Dense and high-strength structure of artificial stone
- Possibility to regulate operational and construction-technological parameters of artificial stone by using off-spec silicate materials as dispersive fillers
Advantages of crushed granulated slag:
- Using crushed granulated slag for production of concrete allows reducing consumption of portlandcement without reducing strength characteristics.
- Economy of primary portlandcement, from 20 to 100%. Replacement percentage depends on such factors as activity of portlandcement, composition of concrete, grain distribution of sand, condition of concrete consolidation, temperature and duration of steam curing etc.
- Crushed granulated blast furnace slag has vitreous structure, reducing water consumption of concrete mix.
- Steam and electric curing significantly increases strength parameters.
- Effectiveness of replacing portlandcement by crushed slag grows up after increase of small-fraction filler I n concrete.
- Crushed slag is a microfiller, which improves structure of construction-technical parameters of concrete and improve surface of the product.
- Replacement of portlandcement by crushed slag at the rate of 20-50% in concrete mix leads to stable increase in frost-resistance of cured concrete.
- Full and comprehensive use of slag ensures waste-free technology and reduces environmental pollution.
- Producing portlandcement as a filler for concrete mixtures
- Road construction
- Molten slag is used for cinder wool, foamed slag, slag casting and slagcerams
- Melioration and fertilization of acidic soils
